Fuel oil sampling while bunkering: A representative sample is one taken with the continuous drip system. This means the test cock on the bunker line drips continuously in a clean container in such a way that no dust from cargo or any water from outside can come into the container. The drip must be such that the container receives at least 4 litres and the period must go over the complete filling of that quantity without overflowing the container.
